APA opens an immediate investigation in the incident of wasting public funds and the involvement of supply and petroleum sector officials in cooking oil crisis

Counselor/ Ali Rizk President of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, ordered to open an immediate investigation regarding what was monitored by APA’s Information Center on 7/10/2016 published by Sadaa Balad news website concerning wasting public funds under the headline of: “the General Department for Public Funds Crimes (GDPFC) reveals the involvement of officials at supply and petroleum sectors in the cooking oil crisis”.

The article stated that the GDPFC at Alexandria Governorate revealed a major incident of Public Funds abuse by company officials affiliated to the Ministry of Supply as they illegally sold soy oil -exempt from customs- allocated for food products to one of the mineral oil companies to be used in the iron and steel industry in violation to the law, which negatively impacted the amount of cooking oil and creating a crisis in the local market.
Accordingly, the incident was referred to the competent Prosecution to take immediate procedures in this concern.
